   About Me
                              Getting to know me...

Yes, you guessed it. I'm a beach loving, Coca Cola drinking, chocolate chip cookie eating--author. Hot fun in the summer time, baby, yeah! I can happily sit my tush under the shade of a palm tree and write away the hours with a coke in one hand and a chocolate chip cookie in the other...um, well, I'd have to alternate but you get the picture. Too bad I don't live near a beach. Oh well, as they say, "We can't all be happy." LOL

Now that you know my vices, let's get down to the important stuff.

I'm happily married to a military man for over 21 years. He's an inspiration and my real-life Hero. After all these years of supporting him in his military endeavors, he's returning the favor by supporting me and my often long hours of writing. You're the best...p--okay, I won't call you that in public. Love ya.

We have four wonderful children. Our oldest son is in college, majoring in Cyber Security with almost two years under his belt already.  Our twin boys are in high school, taking Bus./Computer Programming and in their sophomore year. Wow, a whole year has gone by while I wasn't looking. That'll teach me to blink. Sheez. That means our daughter is in 6th grade, maintaining her straight A's with hopes of  becoming a veterinarian...if acting doesn't work out.  I'm' not sure Hollywood is ready...

And because four children weren't enough chaos, we have three cats who gladly help out. My big guy- Tango gives Garfield a run for his money, but instead of lasagna, it's donuts he loves. He's a beauty. People are always offering to take him home. Next is Oreo-his slightly touched but loveable buddy. The preverbal scardy cat. Yes, he's even afraid of the doorbell. (That's always good for a laugh.) Then, there's our newest addition- Halo, our little angel, who'd been abandoned in October. She doesn't care that Tango can crush her or that Oreo is a prize boxer...nope, she chases them and jumps on them anyway. Let the chaos,  mayhem and havoc begin!

Besides my immediate family, I've been blessed with an incredible support system. My wonderful parents and in-laws are always there to help and cheer me on. I've got a brother who's imagination sometimes surpasses my own.  I know...who would've thought that possible? His wife, my nephew, my other sisters-in-law and my niece are all there if I should need them. And, then there's my friends. Some local, some on-line but all are invaluable. My fellow authors and cyber friends who, without their support, I'd still be fumbling. Thank you, JT, Lorie, Brandi, VFRW Chaptermates and every single one of the Hoods!

As you've probably guessed, I'm an avid movie fan, especially, action, sci-fi and comedies. After all, it's great research for the screenplays I've yet to pen. And television is not to be discounted. Everyone knows not to bother me on Thursday nights, between 9pm-10pm because I delve into the
Supernatural with the Winchesters and their quest to rid their world of evil. I can't get enough of the crack writing and acting involved in that show! I also love both Stargates, Blood Ties, Most Haunted and Ghost Hunters. There's always food for thought in that line up.

Music? You can find me listening to soundtracks while I'm writing certain scenes that lyrics may distract me from. I love rock-n-roll, country, pop and some classical if the violin is featured. All forms play a part in my writing. It just depends on the scene.

Well, that's pretty much all about me. I hope it's helped to shed some light on just what makes me tick. Ya, I know, the doctors are baffled and the jury is still out. LOL. Might as well jump into my favorite pastime:  to create mayhem of the written word. Care to join me? Chaos? Havoc? Where are you?

        Have a good one,

        Donna Michaels
